Working for the conservation and sustainable use of the coastal strip of Santa Marianita

Our goal is to educate and make people aware of caring for nature, the beaches and the ecosystem that inhabits them.

Based on it, and seeking the sustainable use of the beaches, we signed an interinstitutional macro agreement with the University Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí, to work in an articulated manner on a Comprehensive Management Plan for Santa Marianita beach, where there are a large number of dunes that are used for turtle nesting, and is the habitat of much flora and fauna.

Students from the Faculty of Life Sciences will participate in this project in gathering information.

We start with a work table together with the Municipality of Manta, Green Pact, Ecoplayas, Uleam and OceaFreaks; reviewing progress to date and laying the foundations to develop a strategy that allows us to collect the necessary information to prepare a Comprehensive Management Plan in 90 days.

In the course of joining more community actors to this work.

Our interest is to preserve the ecosystem services that nature provides us and take advantage of them in a sustainable way.

We make a call to the community, so that every time we go to the beach we leave it better than we found it.

For the sustainable development of Manta, every time you go to the beach, do not forget it... #LlévateTuBasura
