The position I want to show you today, it is the posture of the tree or Vrksasana. This posture is known as the posture of balance. It is one of the most performed postures in yoga practice and one of the first positions that is learned in yoga class.

Its meaning being the following; VRKSA which means "tree" and ASANA which means "posture".

  • We flex the knee to the left.
  • We open from the hip to the left.
  • With the hip open we place the sole of the left foot on the inner part of the thigh or the right side of the thigh. Not in the knee.
  • We proceed to place our hands in a position of prayer in the center of the chest.
  • Extending towards the coccyx joining the shoulder blades in the back.
