Due to the world crisis that we are currently experiencing and the increase in cases of coronavirus infections, it is inevitable to look for new options to protect ourselves and avoid contagion. Within the WHO, the guidelines to be followed as preventive measures are to cover your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue when you cough or sneeze and wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds.

It is recommended to wash your hands with soap and water, but many times this can be a bit complicated since our daily work does not allow us to do it or sometimes we are not at home, that is why it is recommended to have an antibacterial gel that helps disinfect hands.

I have noticed that in many pharmacies or health centers antibacterial gels are not available due to the great problem we are experiencing has been exhausted. That's why it occurred to me to talk to them and teach them how to create our own homemade antibacterial gel.

Creating an antiseptic gel is very easy, we will only need few materials such as:

This isopropyl alcohol will help us to counteract and kill the growth of the microorganism.

Palo Santo essential oil, this oil is rich in properties, contains a high concentration of limonene, a strong antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal and antiseptic agent. It also has a woody citrus scent that will leave our skin perfumed.

Almond vegetable oil, this will help us hydrate our skin well.

Aloe vera gel, it is essential that we use this aloe vera gel as it will help us reduce the effects of isopropyl alcohol as it can irritate the skin. And it will also help preserve homemade antibacterial serum.

A container with a button or pressure cap (optional), so you can take it anywhere

How to prepare an antibacterial gel at home?

We will use a glass container to make our mixture. In the container we will place 8 tablespoons of aloe vera gel, to this we will add 6 tablespoons (90 milliliters) of isopropyl alcohol, mix everything well, and then proceed to place 20 drops of Palo Santo essential oil and 10 drops of almond oil to hydrate our skin. Once all the mixture is compacted we will place it in our container

You can use the 100 milliliter plastic container for when you are away from home.

Remember this should only be used in the event that you cannot wash your hands with soap and water, but if you have the facility to do so, it is preferable that you wash your hands frequently.
